Dictionary Manager word import not working

I'm trying to create a custom dictionary using the dictionary manager. I loaded the default dictionary that comes with pin edit and then tryed to import words from a third party Word custom dictionary (medspel7.0). When I try to save the updated file, the progress bar appears and "Saving..." is displayed in the lower corner. I've been waiting an hour for the save to complete. So far, nothing... The medspel file has about 7,000 words in it. The entire medspel library contains 50,000+ words in 9 files.

Here's some more information:
If I load the default.dict file that comes with our PinEdit 5.2 installation, the file loads properly and indicates that 112,781 words have been loaded. If I try to save that file without making any modifications, the DictionaryManager never completes the save. It just keeps displaying the "Saving" message.
If I open DictionaryManager and create a new Dictionary and load the words from default.dict into the new dictionary, I can save the file. However, when I open the file again, it says that only 112,398 words are loaded. Did it find and remove duplicates in the default.dict that came with the 5.2 installation?
Once the new dictionary file was created, I was able to add 9 additional files into the new dictionary. I expected to see 171,287 words in the final dictionary. However, only 160,486 words are currently in the dictionary. Again, did it remove duplicates?

the duplicated words are removed after save.
