Is there a way to force the date inserted to the format of MM/DD/YYYY always?

The insert data always give me this format but one of my QA tester said the date was inserted as the long format on his machine. Needless to say he filed a defect which I have to investigate.

Nevermind. My QA was not clear about the problem.
