Enabling/disabling buttons contextually

I've added a new table (column properties) button to the table toolstrip using XML. I want to enable and disable the button when the user focuses in and out of a table respectively, so that it works just like every other native table-based button in the control (eg, cell properties, table properties, insert row, etc).
How is this accomplished?
